Marina di Massa
Siede Massa tra lucida verzura d'aranci, a specchio del Tirreno mare...
Marina di Massa is one of the main and more renowned seaside resorts of the Costa Apuana, near to the Versilia, between Tuscany and Liguria.
Marina di Massa has places with a strong historic interest, as the period houses Corsi, Franca and Doria, building in Liberty Style, and Piazza Bad Kissingen, renovated in 2009 and symbol of the twinning with the German city where there is the beautiful marble monument “Le Vele” realized on a sketch of Pietro Castagna.
Its big promenade connects all the coast where there are the main towns of Versilia, as Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio that are reachable by car or with a beautiful bicycle ride.
Some kilometres far from the sea there is Massa, the county town, where you can walk in the old town centre, visiting the Cathedral and Malaspina Castle. Very close there is the town of Carrara, famous all over the world for its white marble where we recommend you to visit the Marble Museum and the near mines.
As if not enough, by car, only in 30 minutes you can reach interesting towns as Pisa and Lucca and in an hour you can be in the shining Florence
At the end, you can decide to delve into the nature, cover numerous paths on Alpi Apuane, to discover historic villages in Lunigiana and Garfagnana or to reach the adjoining Liguria where you can enjoy the beauties of villages like Bocca di Magra, Sarzana, Montemarcello, Lerici, Portovenere and Cinque Terre.
